Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake/Smoothie
Overview
Pumpkin spice protein shake or smoothie is a healthy and protein packed alternative drink for a pumpkin spice latte or a pumpkin pie. Treat yourself and celebrate the autumn season or Halloween with this delicious spicy protein smoothie recipe. It’s a great smoothie for whenever you’re looking for a seasonal spicy flavor or a healthy drink or dessert option for a Halloween party.
Ingredients for a Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
- Protein powder: You can use any of your favorite vanilla flavored protein powder. I’m personally using a plant based rice protein powder.
- Maple syrup: If you’re looking to save some calories and are able to find a sugar-free maple syrup, then I recommend going with that. Otherwise any regular maple-syrup will work great.
- Oat milk (vanilla flavored): Use any of your preferred plant based vanilla flavored milk. For this recipe, I’m using vanilla flavored oat milk.
- Pumpkin puree: It’s always best to make your own homemade pumpkin puree, but any store bought version will work just as fine.
- Banana: I always recommend using frozen bananas to give the smoothie a better consistency
- Pumpkin Pie Spice: Check out our pumpkin pie spice recipe or use any premade blend from the store. If you can’t find or don’t have an option to use this ingredient, you can just use ground cinnamon.
- Ice cubes: Adding ice will give the smoothie a perfect cold consistency.
- Peanut butter: I recommend using a smooth peanut butter, not crunchy, as it blends more evenly in smoothies.
How to Make the Best Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake?
- Add all the ingredients to the blender – I recommend adding the protein powder before the liquids for it to mix better.
- Blend until everything is properly mixed – Blend the ingredients for about a minute or two until a smooth and creamy texture.
- Serve and enjoy – optionally you can sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top of the smoothie when served.

- 1 cup of oat milk (vanilla flavored)
- 3 tbsp of pumpkin puree
- 1 tbsp of maple syrup (sugar free)
- 1 tbsp of peanut butter (smooth)
- 0.5 cup of frozen banana (or 1 small banana)
- 0.5 cup of ice (or 5-8 ice cubes)
- 1 scoop of protein powder (vanilla flavored)
- 0.5 tsp of pumpkin pie spice

- 1 tbsp peanut butter smooth
- 0.5 cup frozen banana or 1 small banana
- 0.5 cup ice
- 1 scoop protein powder vanilla flavored
- 0.5 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a blender
- Blend the ingredients until a smooth and creamy consistency
- Serve in a glass, sprinkle some cinnamon on top and enjoy!
