Ingredients for Chimichurri Sauce
- Olive oil – if possible, I recommend using the highest quality extra virgin olive oil which you can find.
- Red wine vinegar – the original recipe uses red wine vinegar, but white wine vinegar is also very good.
- Fresh parsley – depending on your taste preference, you can use fresh parsley or coriander in the recipe.
- Garlic – gives the sauce a good flavor, but be careful with the amount. Too much garlic can overpower the flavor of the other ingredients.
- Chilli flakes – gives the sauce a nice spiciness. If desired, you can also use a bit of chopped red chilli as a substitute.
- Dried oregano – I personally prefer to use dried oregano for convenience, but fresh oregano is also very suitable for the recipe if desired.
- Salt and pepper – to season according to preference.
How to Make The Best Chimichurri Sauce?
- Chop the parsley and garlic – Chop the parsley and garlic as finely as possible.
- Prepare the Chimichurri sauce – Mix together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, chopped parsley, chopped garlic, oregano and chili flakes. Season with salt and pepper and mix the dressing evenly.
- For the best taste, let the dressing sit for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to blend – Serve with your favorite grilled food or vegetables. Enjoy!
