Fresh and tasty Greek yogurt sauce with cucumber and garlic. This healthy and protein-rich Tzatziki sauce can be made in less than 5 minutes and is perfectly used as a dip or as a sauce for a variety of foods.
Grate the cucumber finely or cut it into small cubes.
Squeeze the juice from the grated cucumber through a clean cheesecloth, a thin towel, etc.
Chop 1 tablespoon of fresh dill.
Press with a garlic press into a paste or finely chop 1 clove of garlic.
Mix together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, chopped dill, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and season with salt. Mix everything into a smooth sauce, taste and add salt if necessary.
Place the sauce in the refrigerator before serving for at least 10 minutes, preferably at least an hour.
If desired, garnish with chopped dill and serve. For example, pita bread or other crispy bread, carrots, cucumbers or other vegetables are great to be served on the side.
